This happens because Firefox is not fully compatible with the page you're viewing. The layout you're using , uses the code which works in IE but causes display problems in Firefox.

If you're not able to view all components of a webpage, in Firefox click on View %26gt; Page style %26gt; No style. What this does is, it just shows a page using the basic HTML layout However as you'll see, the page now looks very different .

So what i'd really suggest you is to get the extension 'IE tab' for firefox.Once you install that extension , simply put the myspace URL in that extension so that it'll be one of the sites that'll open within firefox but will use the IE's engine. I'll walk you through it.

Once you're on the page, click 'install now (windows)' ...follow steps to install. At the end it'll prompt you to restart firefox.

Now click Tools %26gt;Add-ons %26gt; Extensions %26gt; click on IE tab extension %26gt; click options . Now in the URL, enter http://myspace.com and click 'add'. now click 'ok' to close to box. From now on, always myspace.com will open with IE's engine . If you want a certain page to look like how it does in IE, then instead of the entire myspace URL, just put in your own page's URL there. What this extension basically does is, it lets you change the rendering engine for a webpage. If you don't want to enter any URL there, then you can also click the mozilla firefox icon in the bottom right of the window to switch to the IE rendering engine for the page you're viewing after installing this extension.

You can adjust the "top", "margin-left", "width" %26amp; "height" attributes to position/size-up the banner, %26amp; where it says "content here", that's where you put stuff in for your friends links. To make a space between each link (since it's horizontal), I'd use this code without the spaces in between:

Takes some time to get it just right, but it isn't impossible.

Goes in the About Me. You can also change the background color by using a different hexadecimal color code .. Good luck.

you can't use them unless you have at least a basic knowledge of html. if anything doesn't line up, or you want to change something within the layout you'll need to know css on top of that. if you find a div layout, most of them come with instructions. the first step is to replace the part where it says 'friendid' with your id number. from that point you have to play with it a little bit to get it the way you want. i have basic html knowledge and it took me about an hour to change mine and fix it. try searching for a tutorial on div layouts.

Have you tried Myspace layout sites? I run three, but I don't actually make layouts on mine, but I DO know how to make DIVs. I made the ones on my sites:

I think I get the question but it's not real clear.

You have to remove everything from your profile (previous codes, interests, ext.) and put them somewhere else (note pad or word while your putting in the div) you place each section of code where it tells you to then place your content back into sections where the words are not in brackets. I actually enjoy doing div layouts for people so I'd be willing to help anyone personally if they wanted.

when you are finished with your list end it with %26lt;/div%26gt;

also take the spaces out of the original code, i just put them there so it'd show up. if you want a different border color you'd put it in where the FB6C1 is.(for ex: FFFFF is all black)

I don't know which layout you picked, but for the layout I generated (multiple ii), the DIVs for the boxes are defined in the code that goes in the Music section. Each box is defined by an opening DIV tag that looks like this:

%26lt;div class="div1"%26gt;

And a closing DIV tag that looks like this:

%26lt;/div%26gt;

Whatever you put in between the opening and closing DIV tags will show up in that box. For the "multi ii" layout, div1 is the left box, div2 is the middle box, div3 is the right box, etc. If you want to stick a picture in a box, then you can do it by putting something like this HTML in between the DIV tags for the box that you want:

%26lt;img src="http://photobucket.com/mypics/..." /%26gt;

If you want to put in a YouTube video, then you need to put the embed code for the video clip in between the right DIV tags for the box.

Everyone's answer pretty much makes sense, so I'll add a little more to it. I learned div by essentially viewing source HTML for the layouts I liked. It took awhile to learn and get used to, but I'm pretty happy with my layouts versus any layout generator.

So to do this, first view myspace div layouts you like, then view source info. Paste the source info into an HTML editor and cut out unnecessary HTML. Preview the HTML in Internet Explorer every now and then to verify the HTML you removed. Then you'll eventually have the bare bones HTML for a div layout. Now go crazy from there adding what you want. Good luck.

Ok lets start from the top, delete everything inside all of your myspace boxes, anything that you want to put in your new one paste inside of a notepad document.

Now paste the first one inside of you "about me" and then do not touch ne thing inside of there.

Then when you paste the second one in "I'd like to meet." there is a little editing.

Now open up two internet explores, or whatever browser you are using and in the new one you just opened, go to view my profile. Then up in the "URL" copy ur friend id number, should say friend Id=87126398 whatever ur number is. only copy the numbers.

Now go to the old page where you are editing, and paste that number in where you see all the "xxxxx" (put the numbers isd=side the quotations.

Now where it says blah blaf blah etc. put in your own stuff, codes, things about you whatever.

first u clear everything from ur edit profile (if u want u can save it in a document.. in case u mess up u can get it back)

ok you copy the code that says about me and you put it on ur about me section on ur page (just leave it like it is)

Does anyone here know about Div Overlay's for Myspace?

I have a layout that I found that I want to use, but it covers my advertisement on the top of my page. Does anyone know what I can do to get my advertisement to be unhidden?

Hiding ads on Myspace is a direct violation of the TOS and I don't want to be deleted! Any help would be great!

There is a code in the layout that makes it hide the advertisment.

What I would do is either;

Create a new layout(that looks like the one that you want) Or find a different layout.

Another thing is (if your good at HTML)

Is search through the layout code, and read the html parts that say 'hide'

if you see any, try deleting the codes..

See, on my layout it use to hide advertisment, (it came with the layout) So I tried getting the code out.. I did, and now you can see the advertisment(sometimes!)

Add me on MySpace, and I'll help you out. I cannot see all of the coding above. In most circumstances like these, it's the "z-index" that's the problem. Think of it placing sheets of paper on top of each other. Each layer has a number. The one you started with, that's right at the bottom would be 1, the one on top of that would be 2, etc, etc. Sometimes, copying and pasting, you can forget to change the z-index number, and both of those layers are on the same level, and are underneath another layer - hence not visible. Have a look through the CSS code for the music player and change the z-index number to a higher one to bring it to the top.

you didnt put your comment box into a div - it's just sitting in your meet section all by itself, that's why it's not showing

my best advice would be to put it into a div and position it just like you did with your other divs, but if just want a quick fix that makes your comment box appear, i came up with this

that makes it show, but it's hard to see - if you want to see it better, at least just til you get it all straightened out, you can use this

No, Photoshop is used for creating graphics (it can generate HTML, but is dreadful at it, it can't automatically create something that will drop into MySpace).

While webpages can include graphics, they don't have to. You can do layout with just plain old HTML and CSS (both of which can be created with a text editor).

It doesn't look like it takes up much space but if you want to change it, adjust the width and height in the code.

Ex.

Instead of - width: 200px change it to width: 150px and keep messing with it until you get it right.

I tried to do the same thing on my profile, but you can't place it anywhere you want to. You're might have to edit your DIV code or find another code that implements MySpace's new feature. :)

Because DIV layouts are seperate code readings then normal ones, If you want a banner you have to use a layout thats not DIV.

you have to figure out which div that is. it's probably labeled div 1 in your code. that's usually how they're labeled. anyway... replace the url of the beyonce picture with the url of the tupac picture.

you can't just enter a new code to do it.

Because the comments table is very complicated, many layouts just disable it. You can try to un-hide it, but chances are, the comments will totally job up the div layout. Be sure you know how to manipulate DIV before you try to reposition the comments.

Find ".friendscomments" in your stylesheet, and delete anything that says "display:none;" or "visibility:hidden;" The comments will now be shown.

well they should tell you how to do it. they give you two codes to post. inside those codes it has some space for you to type stuff. what I do Is save it preview my profile and what the letters say look for it in the code.

Div myspace layout trouble?

Okay so basically, you probably forgot to change the links in the image map before you pressed "Submit" on Myspace. As a precaution, they demorph the links into a redirect that way they can filter out the spam links. What you're going to have to do is find which imagemap (%26lt;AREA%26gt;) tag corresponds to "Comments" and "More Pictures," and change the "href" value to the correct link.

The comments page link looks like (without spaces):

http://comment.myspace.com/ index.cfm?fuseaction=user. viewComments%26amp;friendID=00000

And the message link looks like (without spaces):

http://messaging.myspace.com/ index.cfm?fuseaction =mail.message%26amp;friendID=00000

All you gotta do is replace "00000" with your friendID, and of course, remove the spaces.

hard to say based on this because when u post things in yahoo answers that have urls it cuts them off..but im thinking maybe u didnt replace ur friend id or something...??
