Where can I learn how to make comment boxes and Div Layouts for myspace from scratch?

I would like to know how to make comment boxes from scratch. I don't want to use a generator.

Same with DIV layouts.

are their any tutorial sites out their that will give me a basic style sheet and tell me what things mean so i can figure it out myself?
